Finished my newest Just Nan design. Its Gingerbread Mouse. So darn cute, dang.  The design came with the tail and little charm thing that is under his butt, you could easily use a button on his butt, might even be cuter I think.  Finishing was very easy. The pin can be removed.

So seriously, how darn cute is he:)  Hes only 1 3/4 inches long.  Lots of stitching on him though.  I love the way he turned out.

I'm going to try and stitch something today, wish me luck. Thanks for stopping by.

Hard to believe but I stitched and finished something:)  This is Woolwork Lambs by Shepherds Bush, I've done it before. I stitched it on a 18 count davosa fabric over 2 so its big, about 7 inches across. This time I added a pretty venise lace around the design and swarovski crystals around the edges. Love the way it turned out and how could I go wrong with Shepherds Bush and sheep:))))

Going to try and find something else to stitch.  Thanks for stopping by!!!!

And another finish, woo hoo. Its Snow by Vals stuff. I used a 28 count wood violet lugana and HDF silk.

I like her designs, I think they are very cute:) Wish I had more to report in the stitching department but I'm having a tough time getting with it. I do have the new Just Nan Christmas design, Noel 2012, maybe thats not the name. I should make that. Will see.

Thanks for stopping by...........

So I finally finished something, in a slump again I guess, can't even force myself to stitch, hate that so much.

I did finish Tall Sheep by Sherds Bush and then I put it in a little basket. It turned out kinda cute.

Hey, I did finish something else. Be right back after I take a pic:)))))

How cool is this idea. The friend and I were were in Hobby Lobby one day and she sees these metal plate holders and says it would be great for me to hang cross stitch off of..............I hate it when shes right but occassionally it just happens that way:))

I have one more Shepherds Bush I'm going to do for it, have the pins and buttons too. This is very stinking cute on my wall.

Ok, I'm outta here people. See you ...... I would say tomorrow but I'm guessing that wont happen, see  ya later:)

Wednesday, October 24, 2012

Here is todays finish. I stitched most of it yesterday and finished up this morning. This is Good Cheer Pincushion by The Shepherds Bush. As you can see its not a pincushion. I made it into an ornament.

It was another fast item to stitch. The truth is I love stitching Shephers Bush designs and they always seem to go fast. The more sheep the better.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do next. I really really really really need to finish up that Thanksgiving Exchange item. I'm having a tough time powering through it though. I hate it when that happens. I also need to get to work on Rosewood Manors And a Garden Grew. I have a huge empty space on my living room wall now because a picture fell off the wall the other night and shattered. :(

Ok see you tomorrow, hopefully I will have another finish.

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

Found a blog with a very cute felt reindeer and thought it might look really cute with a stitched blanket. I think I was right. This was another super quick stitch.

I love the little button nose:)

Wish I could say that I was stitching on or finished my exchange pinkeep but I made mistake and had to take out a bunch, ugh. I hate doing that, it just ruins it for me for the day.

The plan tomorrow is to get back on it and at least get to where I was. Time to mail is getting closer every day.

Thanks for visiting:)

Monday, October 22, 2012

Did the finishing on a couple today. The first one is Shepherds Bush Poor Robin.  It was supposed to be a pincushion but I made it into an ornament. I made the little polymer clay nose for it.

The next one is a freebie from The Drawn Thread, its on their website, called First Snow.

I'm trying to get the Thanksgiving exchange pinkeep done.  I'm easily distracted, ugh.........

Hope to see you tomorrow.

Thursday, October 18, 2012

Here is what I finished up yesterday. I had it stitched and finally got the rest of the buttons in the mail.  I really love it.  Please excuse the nail hole in the wall that I made and attempted to cover up, I guess I should do it the right way, sigh.

Anyway, this is Tall Sheep by The Shepherds Bush, remember I said I wanted to start it? It was a very fast stitch. It was supposed to be stitched on a 20 fabric but all I had was davosa in 18 count and it worked really well.  I bought it on ebay a few years ago and rarely use it but its great for something like this or to make a large biscornu. Stitching on it goes very quickly.

I think I may make another one with out the pins and buttons but on a 28 count. I want a little pincushion with this design on it.

I changed the colors on this because I like changing the colors:)  I used HDF silk floss. I just love the little buttons and pins. I made it so it can hang too but for now I like it this way.

So that is what I finished up last night. Now I'm starting on another project. Hope it turns out.

Thanks for visiting and see you soon.

Sunday, October 14, 2012

Just finished up three of the button leg reindeer. I had the stitching done, just had to put everything together. I'm glad to be finished with these three. They are fun to do but it takes a long time to finish.

The stitched designs are all part of Just Nans Merry Fifteen biscornu. They are tiny and fit just right. These little button leg things work up so cute. I think I should make a button leg sheep. I still dont have one of my own.

So thats if for today. I will go and start something else. I should start Ginger Joy or work on my Thanksgiving exchange. I really want to start Tall Sheep though. I'm going to keep it when I'm finished with it..........I dont keep many of the things I make. I think I have about 5 things other than large pictures that I have on my walls.

Ok, see  you tomorrow.
Finished up a couple more this morning. I've made both of these before. They are quick and fun.

Now I'm working on three button leg reindeer and one button leg snowman. My plan is to finish all of them today.

I really want to make Just Nans Ginger Joy too. Then again I want to start on Tall Sheep by the Shepherds Bush, then again I have to finish my Pinkeep for the Thanksgiving exchange........sigh.

Gosh I have a list of what I need to do and what I want to do. I wish just for once they were the same list, lol.

See you later or tomorrow.

Wow, we got rain last night, first time in a couple months. Its kind of nice but cold. I'm sure my little bushes I planted this summer are thrilled, they have had  a tough summer and arent doing so good.

Here are Rudy Reindeer and Blitzen Glistens by Just Nan.  I finished them up last night. They are fast to stitch, maybe 3 hours each.

On Rudy Reindeer the snowlakes are done in one over and I used Keinik braid to do that. I think I need a congratulations on that one or maybe I need to be slapped. First of all, I HATE one over and doing it with that braid was a nightmare. I wont be doing that again.

On Blitzen Glistens the four little cardinals are done in one over. Did I mention I HATE one over, oh yeah, I did. Well, I still do.  Still they were much easier to do with good old DMC.  I used a fuzzy kind of cording stuff I found at Hobby Lobby. I like the look of it.

I actually stitched this on linen. I rarely stitch on linen, mostly lugana but I like the way it turned out and I actually liked stitching on it. Weird.

Ok, today I'm doing finishing for someone else. I would like to get a couple of my button leg reindeer done too but I'm thinking that wont happen.

I had a tough week a couple weeks ago and I guess a friend figured I needed a surprise in the mail.  Anyway, I got Tall Sheep along with the little pins for it, Creepy Pincushion kit, Good Cheer Pincushion kit and a little packet of three adorable sheep buttons. I do love sheep you know.

I really want to start the tall sheep one, badly.

See you tomorow

Friday, October 12, 2012

wow, I just looked at the last picture and realized how badly centered it is. Nothing I can do about it though because the fabric is not large enough to fix it, ugh.........
Heres the other one I had finished, I just needed to take a picture. Its The Stars in the Heavens by The Stitching Parlor.  I think its a super cute design and was another quick stitch. I have to say the finishing was a little more time consuming on this one. Getting the stitching centered and having enough fabric was iffy towards the end. I was afraid I had cut too close to the stitching but I managed to pull it off.

So thats what I did today. Tomorrow I will finish up a few more, then I have some to finish for someone else. Then hopefully back to stitching on Sunday.

Thanks for stopping by......
I've been stitching this week. I have two finished so far today and 5 or so more to go.  The first picture is a design by The Trilogy called Winter Spots. It was a fun and quick stitch.

I got the little lights and buttons at Hobby Lobby when they were 1/2 off, I looove 1/2 off. Anyway, I thought they would be really cute on this.

The next one is one of Marilyn Leavitt-Imblums, I hope I spelled that right. Its her 1991 angel.  I love her angels. I think she passed away just a short time ago.  When I first started cross stitching big stuff I was in love with her large angels. I stitched almost all of them at one time or another. She created beautiful designs.

I will have one more to show in a few minutes just have to get a picture.  See you soon!

No stitching this weekend but I did get the part for my Ott light and that makes me very happy.

We have had bad frosts this last week and I'm out mucking the yard. All the dead flowers, sigh. 7 contractors bags, thats a lot! It makes me sad but I will be happy again come spring when the flowers that are perennials just start coming up all over:)  I cant wait to see my little tree in the spring covered with its pink flowers that last a very long time. It grew a lot this summer.

I did stitch a little come to think of it because I'm in the Thanksgiving exchange over at "Hooked on Exchanging". So I did work on my Thanksgiving pinkeep for my partner.

No stitching today though I'm going to Montana with my friend to pick up her son from his grandparents.  Hopefully back to it tomorrow though.

Thanks for dropping by.

Heres my picture as promised of the penny rug with the pennies on it.  I looooove it.

Yes I know, I still dont know how to change the date on my camera.

So I must go back outside and continue stalking the UPS man, as I'm sure you know, stalking them makes them get to your house faster.

Thanks for stopping by.
I just checked the UPS tracking number and it says my ott light part is out for delivery today, WOO HOO is all I can say to that. I'm not sure how I ever survived without that light. I also finished the pennies for the sheep penny rug and I'm sewing them on today so hopefully this evening I will have a picture to post of it completely done.

We got a very hard frost last night and my poor dahlias are goners. That makes me so sad.  I loved going out and looking at them. The tomato plants bit the dust too. I just picked all the green ones and will see if any of them ripen. Three huge bowls of them. I planted cherry and roma this year. First time for the romas and I can't tell you how many were on that plant, hundreds for sure. I've given away about 3 gallons of them and now I've picked the larger ones and the vines are still covered in small ones..........poor babies...

Ok I'm off to stalk the UPS driver..........

Hopefully I will have a picture later tonight......

Sunday, September 30, 2012

I haven't stitched anything in over a week, not because I'm being lazy and  not stitching or don't want to though. I actually painted the living room and redecorated it......Oooooh just a minute I have made something, I will run and take a pic and show you............

Here it is, a penny rug. Well its bigger than most penny rugs. Its about 25x26 inches. I found one on ebay and fell in love with it, put in a bid that I was sure would guarantee it would be mine and was outbid immediatly so I decided to make my own. It only took about 3 hours start to finish and would have gone faster but I was using fusible web to hold the pieces in place before I did the blanket stitch around them and apparently I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to that stuff. I did finally get the hang of it though.  Kind of.

Its not completely finished because I am making triple pennies to put on each of the little green "tabs" around it.  I figured I will  make all of them first then put them on. So he is on my endtable though and very cute.

Another reason I'm not stitching is I broke the plug in part on my ott lamp and I have one ordered.  I was afraid I would have to buy a whole new lamp but contacted the company that makes them and I was able to order the piece even though my lamp is about 9  years old. I was thrilled and hopefully it will be here Monday or Tuesday.

So heres a new picture of my pug Quincy...........he's wearing Sophies snake on his head, don't ask.........This is the first picture of Quincys face, well the side of his face,  since he was a baby, hes camera shy or maybe just a butthead when it comes to letting his picture be taken.

No my living room is not that color yellow.  The background colors are way off in this picture.  Notice the deformed couch pillow in the background? Thats because Sophie in her 22 pounds of glory perches up there all the time, sigh, dogs gotta love em....

Hopefully I will be stitching by Monday or Tuesday, as soon as the lamp part comes. I don't know how I stitched without that lamp before.

Thanks for stopping by...........

Have I stitched today? Uhhhh......thats a NO!  I should do it now but that evil friend of mine is forcing me to go to Hobby Lobby with her. I will go but I will be kicking and screaming the whole way.  Ok, I will be kicking and screaming with excitement because first off, I barely have a life and second, I havent been to Hobby Lobby in a long long time and third, my evil friend and I laugh alot. WOO HOO!!!!

I really want to get the Drawn Thread design finished tomorrow, the stitching and the finishing part.

So I have a question for you guys out there. Where are some great sites with pictures of different types of finishing? I stalk The Worlds Largest Collection of Smalls 1 and 2 and a few others but would love to know some blogs or sites out there with great, unusual, different finishing pictures. No tutorials needed, just great pics for ideas.

So I'm off to Hobby Lobby!!! I know it wont be fun but I will try and act like I'm having fun:)

See you tomorrow.
I received my Halloween Exchange today and its fantastic!! Edgar made me this cute little halloween box. The design is on a dyed linen and I just love the little ghost charm.  He also sent lots of candy goodies. I almost forgot about taking a picture to post to the Exchange blog, thankfully there were still a few M&Ms left in the bag or everyone would know how little self control I have. He also sent fabric and a very cute Halloween trim. He does a beautiful job of stitching and finishing........as a side note he has beautiful handwriting, much nicer than mine for sure:)

Friday, September 21, 2012

Ummmm, I didnt stich anything today. I got sidetracked by my friend who MADE me go with her shopping.........well she did, sort of........Ok, I wanted to go, sigh.

I am stitching on the Drawn Thread design though. I was hating the queens stitches so much I changed them. They are my least favorite stitch in the world to do. Well maybe not in the world but of the stitches I can do, they are my least favorite.  They are time consuming, not good for someone who loves instant or fairly instant gratification and they look messy when I finish.  I'm sure  I'm doing them right I just dont like the finished product. Now my design will have spider web roses done with perle cotton instead. Hope it turns out ok.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to finish it up. Also and I found a couple pieces that I had stitched and misplaced so I  may try and finish them too.

So those are my plans for the weekend and maybe some of them will get done. Hope you all have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Thursday, September 20, 2012

As I promised.........here is a picture of the design by Shepherd's Bush called Come. When I was trying to figure out how to finish it this red fringe just jumped out at me so I figured it was a sign that I should use it. Some would have taken it as a sign to clean up the craft area......not me!

I loooove the little sheep flower at the top of the design. I could stitch Shepherd's Bush sheep all day. Ok, maybe not all day but I do like stitching them. I also love that I can just use whatever color I want in these designs.

Tonight I'm stitching a little design by The Drawn Thread. Its an old one I think. My plan is to make it into a sewing book tomorrow.  Lets see if that happens.

Thanks for coming by!
I stitched this little pumpkin face this morning and made him into a standup. I used a 28 count jazlyn fabric called Pumpkin Spice. Its a great color for a pumpkin I think.  I had the buttons from last year. I found them at Joannfabric after Halloween and snagged a few thinking I would find a use for them. For a change I was right:)

I used a white satin ribbon, then an orange grosgrain and then a green satin ribbon with polka dots for around the standup. Pretty cute I think.

I did finish the Shepherds Bush design Come.  I will finish it into an ornament in a little while and probably post a picture of it tonight.

I dont know what I'm going to stitch next, I have a few things out. I get sidetracked so darn easy any more.

Thanks for coming by my blog, see you later or tomorrow.

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

I made and finished another button leg reindeer and another button leg snowman. They are fun to do. The stitching is pretty fast too.

This time the snowman is smaller, more the size of the reindeer. I would say they are for a big Christmas tree. This time on the reindeer I was digging around looking for something and came across a package of little wooden pegs, what I had them for I dont know but I thought they would be great for hooves and I really like them.

Now I'm stitching Come by Shepherd's Bush. I'm hoping to do most of the stitching tonight and finish tomorrow and make it into an ornament.

I sure get sidetracked easy. I sit down and plan out what I'm going to do and the next thing I know I'm looking through charts and changing my mind, ugh..........I wish I could stay on track.

So "IF" I  stay on track I should have a picture of the Shepherds Bush design tomorrow.

Thanks for visiting............

Sunday, September 16, 2012

I don't have anything to show right now. Weekends and stitching don't really go together for me.  I am working on the Halloween exchange ornament though and the plan this week is another button leg reinder and snowman along with 3 other things. Hope i can stay on track.

Hopefully I will have something to show tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping!

Tuesday, September 11, 2012

Yesterday I took my friends advice again..... I'm sure shes very full of herself today because I've taken her advice twice, in one week no less, sigh... Anyway, she suggested a button leg snowman and I gave it a try.  I used felt again for the body. I like felt, its very forgiving.  The eyes are beads I painted, the nose is a very soft, kind of fuzzy fleece that I bought for something special, what I dont remember.  The twigs are from my snowball bush out back, how approriate is that?

I knitted the little cap and scarf for him and then added the decorations. Hes pretty cute. I like the reindeer better though.  Hes pretty big, about 17 inches long. I may try and make a smaller one for a Christmas tree ornament.

I also stitched a little, very little, on my Halloween exchange ornament. I really need to get going on it.......I have time but I tend to wait until the last minute and I don't want to do that this time.

So I'm off to stitch on the Halloween exchange or start something else:)

Friday, September 7, 2012

I decided to give my friends idea a whirl and I made a button leg reindeer. Its much smaller than the button leg sheep I've made. Its more ornament size, for a large tree.  I used summer khahi lugana for the body. I really hated stitching on that fabric, its very stiff.  I used felt for the back of the body, head and antlers.  Then I just decorated the heck out of it.

I just love the way it turned out. I guess my friend has good taste, after all I am her friend.....ok, me as a friend may be a little questionable:)

I don't know if I'm going to stitch anything today.  I'm just not sure.

Thanks for visiting my blog!!
